Thank you so much for setting up this amazing event. I have absolutely only positive comments. You have done a wonderful thing in creating the opportunity for an event of this nature. Peter Giddy, 25M Thank you for a really
great event on Saturday, the arrangement were excellent. The scenery was all
the way awesome and we could not have asked for better weather. The check
points were wonderful: encouraging & motivating. Thanks to all those people
that sacrifice their time for us. Cobus Van Der Merwe, 25M Thank you for an awesome and well organised event. My sincere thanks to all the persons that supported us with great enthusiasm and friendliness through organising, marshalling and great water points /checkpoints. The drinks, eats and hot soup kept the energy levels and spirits high. 50 miles being my longest trail event offered a great route with amazing views, some interesting challenges, variations in terrain and conditions that kept me fascinated. The drizzling rain was perfect and the drifting mist gave it a hint of eeriness. I met some really nice and caring people on the route that made the experience special. The little glass elephant trophy – priceless. Francois Steyl, 50M What can I say??? It was a superb race – we couldn’t have asked for better conditions to run in and I couldn’t have had a better ‘first-timer’ experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event, from finding you packing up registration as the night-life awoke in Addo to that sad, hollow feeling of ‘does it really end now?’ as I saw that finish line across the valley from the workers huts at the top of the exit from the gorge. The organisation was fantastic, the check point supporters and people manning them fabulous in their enthusiasm with helping us and urging us on – and the chance to run through such mind-blowingly beautiful country-side was an opportunity that I’d go back for tomorrow if I wasn’t tied to an office! We are truly spoilt in this country with places like Addo to visit. Robyn Melnick, 25M Thanks once again for a wonderful wilderness experience. The planning of rain mist and mud for race day was a particularly nice touch. Strange how every wet, bedraggled runner I asked on the trail said they were enjoying it even more because of the wet conditions. Unfortunately the last 19,3 km from Zuurberg did not get any shorter this year, although the pain of completing this bit was a lot less than last year. Neil Myburgh, 50M What a fantastic run we had on Saturday! Stunning scenery, well bunted, well supported by marshals…. and over-all epic! The vibe was energetic, the peacefulness of nature was inspiring and the scenery was motivating! We loved it and will definitely see you next year! Kiki Rathbone, 25M Thank you for an absolute awesome run on Saturday, I loved the 48km Addo and will definitely be back next year. Will come up earlier and enjoy the parks. Thank you for a well organised and marked route with Cp's that you don't want to leave. Kathy Bova, 25M Thanks for a wonderful race once again. As usual I had the time of my life out there. Hope to be back for years and years to come. Susan Hurter, 50M Just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful Saturday! It was great - again, and superbly organised and am looking forward to next year. Steffi Rohrbach, 25M Thanks for organising such a wonderful run! I took part in the 25 miler and loved every step of the way, even the nasty hills! It reignited my passion for running which can so easily be dulled with plodding the tar. I look forward to next year and must return to catch a glimpse of the stunning views from the ridge that we missed due to cloud cover. Jane Barnardo, 25M I will definitely be back next year to take in the views and we pray for less rain and less slippery mud. But I have to say that that was what made for a better journey. Thank you again. It will be in my memory forever. Lenora Covele, 25 A big thank you and congrats on the most amazing race! It was AWSOME! I haven’t stopped talking about this race…definitely a must do for any trail runner. Driekie Black, 25M Thanks for a truly memorable event. The organization was of a high standard, and it was a huge privilege to spend the day in an unspoilt mountain environment. Thanks also to the marshalls at the checkpoints - it must have been a challenge to get to some of them due to swollen rivers and slippery tracks. We may have missed out on some views due to the mist and clouds, but were certainly blessed with the cool weather. André Knobel, 25M Many thanks for putting on an awesome race, it was really enjoyable despite the weather if not quite frankly the toughest race I have done since ironman. Dan Edwards, 25M As always it was a great challenge and a great event. Nico Du Preez, 25M What a wonderful day it was and despite the rain, an unforgettable experience. The race was well organised, the trail clearly marked and all the helpers along the way were magnificent! Annamarie Vermaak, 25M |
